Tap Dance Training – Rhythm, Movement, and Musicality

Tap dance is where movement becomes music. Through the AIDT (Association of International Dance Teachers) syllabus, students learn the art of rhythm, sound, and creative expression. Under the instruction of Sheree, an Advanced Associate Member of the AIDT, dancers develop technique, timing, and style—transforming their feet into instruments of percussion.

Discover the Joy of Tap Dance

Tap dance is a vibrant, energetic style of dance that teaches students to create rhythm and sound through precise footwork. Our AIDT Tap program is carefully designed to build strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity and musical awareness. Students learn how to blend movement with music, mastering the unique coordination that makes tap dance such an exciting and rewarding form of expression.

At our studio, tap classes are offered to children ages 5 and up, with levels suitable for both beginners and more experienced dancers. The program follows the AIDT’s structured syllabus, guiding students through progressive stages of learning from basic steps to advanced combinations.

What Makes Tap Dance Special?

Tap is unlike any other dance style. It combines syncopation, improvisation, and expressive upper body movement with rhythmic footwork. Dancers learn to listen closely to the music—and to themselves—as they build patterns of sound and develop a deep sense of timing and musicality.

Program Highlights

  • Ages 5 and Up: Tap classes begin at age five and continue through progressively challenging levels as students build their skills.

  • AIDT Syllabus: Each level introduces new techniques, rhythms, and combinations while reinforcing proper body alignment and safe movement practices.

  • Musical Development: Students improve their timing, listening skills, and understanding of rhythm as they dance.

  • Creative Expression: Tap encourages improvisation and allows dancers to experiment with sounds and styles.

  • Performance: Students have the option to showcase their talents at year-end performances.

Why Choose AIDT Tap Dance Training?
